As February comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a month that felt different—peaceful, focused, and filled with love. Being my birthday month, I received extra love and well wishes, which made me feel deeply grateful for the people in my life. But beyond the celebrations, this month was a lesson in intention and balance—something I have often struggled with as an entrepreneur.
When you run a business, it’s easy to get caught up in the endless to-do lists, the constant need to push forward, and the pressure of being available for everyone. Slowing down feels like a luxury, but this month, I made a real effort to pause, reflect, and focus on myself—something I’ve neglected for far too long.
My recent trip to Nepal was a powerful reminder of how blessed I am to live the life I have today. Seeing the way people there live, their resilience, and their gratitude for the simplest things gave me a renewed sense of appreciation for everything I have. It also reminded me to be more present, especially for my family and my well-being.
With that in mind, I made a few small but significant lifestyle changes:
✅ Cooking More Homemade Meals – I found so much joy in making meals for my family this month. There’s something special about gathering around the table and sharing a home-cooked dish. It made me feel more connected to my roots and more present with my loved ones.
✅ Prioritizing Movement – I made it a goal to walk at least five times a week in the mornings, and in the evenings, I went to the gym with my kids. These small habits made a huge difference in my energy levels, mood, and overall well-being.
✅ Fixing My Sleep Habits – This one has been tough for me. For years, I have prioritized work and others over myself, and in doing so, I sacrificed sleep. But I am finally forcing myself to go to bed on time. It’s a work in progress, but I know that rest is essential for showing up as my best self.
✅ Setting Boundaries with Social Media – Over the last two weeks, I set time limits on my social media use. Social media is a great tool, but it can also be draining. There is so much to unlearn, let go of, and free myself from. I am realizing that constant scrolling does not equate to productivity, and being intentional with my time is key.
None of these changes are drastic, but collectively, they have had a profound impact on my mindset and daily life. I share all of this with you not just as an update but as an encouragement—because sometimes, the biggest transformations start with the smallest steps.
One thing I’ve learned this month is that we often point fingers at others—blaming circumstances, people, or situations for what’s holding us back. But real growth begins when we stop pointing outward and start pointing inward. What can we do to better ourselves? What habits, mindsets, or fears do we need to let go of? How can we show up with more belief, confidence, and trust in ourselves? The answers to these questions don’t come overnight, but taking ownership of our actions, thoughts, and patterns is the first step toward real change.
Giving Back: Community Service in February
One of the most rewarding parts of this month was the community service projects we completed. Every month, I try to make space for giving back, and February was no exception.
February 14 – Valentine’s Day Rose Giveaway, I partnered with Do Good Roseville, and together, we received 200 fresh roses from Wish for Seniors. My dear friend Kathy and I planned a special initiative to spread love and joy to the senior community.
We visited Keys Café in Roseville, Cardigan Ridge Senior Building, the Roseville Senior Community Center, and Roseville Seniors, delivering roses and smiles. Every person who received a rose lit up with joy, expressing heartfelt gratitude. In addition to the flowers, we also handed out handmade Valentine’s Day cards created by Roseville High School students.
The best part? This event truly became an intergenerational experience. We had three volunteers from Roseville High School helping us distribute the gifts, and even my four-year-old son and his little friend Layla joined in. Seeing different generations come together in such a beautiful way reminded me how small acts of kindness can bridge gaps and build connections.
February 22 – Sandwich & Socks Social, another meaningful project came to life thanks to the generosity of friends. My friend Tracy suggested organizing a Sandwich Social, and my friend Jenny wanted to do a Sock Drive—so we combined both and created a heartwarming event at Roseville Seniors. The seniors enjoyed good food, warm socks, and even warmer company. Over the past few years, I have noticed a shift in the senior community. When I first visited the Roseville Seniors building three years ago, there was a lot of loneliness and even unkindness among residents. I remember hosting a Bingo event where seniors would argue with each other instead of enjoying the moment.
Fast forward to today, and I see something different. More seniors are stepping out of their apartments, engaging in conversations, and forming friendships. It’s a beautiful transformation, and it reminds me that: Time heals. Food brings people together. Community changes lives.
As I write this, I am filled with gratitude for how far we have come. These events happened simply because I gave my time—and because amazing volunteers stepped up to help.
What was once just an idea or a hope is now a real, thriving movement of kindness and connection.
February has reaffirmed my belief in the Power of One—one idea, one person, one project at a time, we can make a difference. Just yesterday, I attended the Annual St. Paul Chamber event, where I was recognized and inspired by this very theme. It reminded me that the journey of impact begins with one simple decision to say YES.
Saying yes to being an entrepreneur. Saying yes to Namaste Brows and Boutique.Saying yes to community service. Saying yes to personal growth. Each "yes" has led me to where I am today, and I am encouraged to keep saying yes to more dreams, more impact, and more opportunities to serve.
As I step into the coming months, I have big dreams for 2025. But none of it happens alone. I need your love and support as we continue growing our Namaste community—because together, we can bring joy, kindness, and change to the world around us.
With gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead,
Jeena
